About the app
What does the app do?
The app creates a list of nearby pubs. When you select a pub from the list it
will display what real ales the pub has on right now.
How does it know what beers are in each pub?
The pub landlords keep their list of beers up to date. When they change a barrel
they update their inventory through their account at yourround.co.uk. The app
downloads this information.
Why does the app say no pubs found?
This could be for one of two reasons.
Firstly, the app might not be able to get on the internet. Check the settings on
the phone to see if you can get online.
Otherwise, you might not be close enough (within 10 miles) to a participating
pub. Check the website here at yourround.co.uk to see where your nearest pub is.
Click on ‘search pubs’ enter your postcode and choose a large search radius.
There are no participating pubs near me…
Go to your local and tell them about yourround.co.uk. It’s very easy for
landlords to create an account. You could can have a functioning app in no
time.
What do the numbers in brackets mean?
This is the number of different beers that the pub has available.
How do I get the beer pump view?
Rotate the device to landscape and it will load the beer pump view. Rotate
back to portrait to load the beer board view again. The loading time can be a
few seconds.
Will the app be available on other types of phone?
There are plans make other version of this app for different types of
phone such as Nokias and BlackBerrys.
It would be really good if the app did…
